Founded in 1982, Promelit went through all the market phases of the last quarter of the century.

Since 1986, the company has been distributing products of the Corean company GOLDSTAR (Today LG-NORTEL) evolving into a leading global brand in the small and medium enterprise sector reaching very soon 50.000 devices sold every year with 10% market share.

At the beginning of 1999, the company underwent a Management Buy-Out headed by the Italian partners, thus exiting the German DeTeWe, to give a strong impulse to Promelit, one of the few 100 % Italian companies in the TLC field. The company has thus acquired a network of 350 distributors and franchising and more than 3000 final users.

In 2001 Promelit started a cross-company collaboration with Telecom Italia for the marketing of Cordless Phones which led, in 2005, to the supply of 300.000 Videophones getting a turnover of more than 40 million Euros. This collaboration is still growing with new residential products such as Cordless, BCA, and Broadband devices.

In 2002 the Video surveillance division was founded, offering dedicated solutions to meet security requirements of private users, companies and public administration.

In 2006, aiming to explore new markets, Promelit opened a branch office in Athens, soon becoming an important player in the market of Communication and Video Security in Greece.
